• A pointed toe runs longer through the front than a round toe, though the fit across the ball of the foot is unchanged.

• 10cm on a stiletto is a steep pitch. If you are not used to it, this is an evening shoe rather than a full-day one.

• There is no strap, so the fit is held by the vamp alone - a narrow heel may slip.

Styling

Tailored trousers, a pencil skirt, or an evening dress. Black patent-look reads formal, so it suits a boardroom or an event more than a casual weekend.

Care

Wipe the glossy upper with a soft damp cloth - it marks and the marks show. The red finish on the sole will wear off with use; that is normal and not a fault. Have the heel tips replaced before the plastic wears through to the metal.
