• There is no back, so the caged bands across the foot are what hold the shoe on. A narrow foot may find them loose.

• The bands do not stretch. If they sit tight across the top of your foot on day one, size up.

• A square toe reads wider across the front than a pointed shoe.

Styling

Office through to dinner in the warmer months. Cropped trousers, a midi skirt, or a linen dress - and bare feet, since there is no back to it. The cream is the softer pick; the black will carry more.

Care

Wipe with a soft damp cloth and get between the bands with a dry cloth rather than soaking them. Polish the buckle dry. Store out of direct sun so the cream does not yellow.
